Best Brands Inc., partnered with New Heights Brewing Company, is giving local Tennessee homebrewers a chance to make their dreams come true!

A panel of at least 5 judges will judge each entry according to the category in which it was entered.
First, second, and third place will be awarded to beer that accurately exemplifies the specified style, displaying the proper balance of taste, aroma, and appearance
Entry is $10. Each entrant will receive a t-shirt and a coupon for a free pint at New Heights Brewery.
Entries will be accepted at New Heights Brewery located at 928 5th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203 from August 1st thru November 1st during tap room hours.
Winners will be announced Saturday, December 8th.

Prizes
Winning beer will receive a medal and be
brewed in a 30 barrel batch at New Heights,
kegged and canned with a label designed by
the winner (subject to label approval by the
Judges). The beer will be sold in the taproom
and also distributed in Knoxville, Nashville, and
Chattanooga areas by Best Brands. Subject to
ingredient availability.
The second place beer will be brewed at New
Heights, put on draft in the taproom, and be
awarded a medal.
$50 gift card and swag kit along with a medal.

Rules
This is a "Best of Show" contest with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. No infected beer as New Heights is a clean brewery only.
An entry consists of (1) a six pack of 12 oz bottles or (2) four pack of large format (750ml) from a single batch of beer.
Only one entry per entrant(s).
The bottles must be made of clear, green, or brown glass, and be free of labels, excessive dirt and identifying marks. All bottles must be filled within an inch and a half of the top, and be capped with a metal crown cap. The caps must be plain colored, or be completely blacked out with black permanent marker. Swing-type caps are not permitted.
Every entry must be submitted with a bottle identification label attached to each bottle with a rubber band. View Example. Using glue or tape to secure the labels to the bottle will disqualify an entry. Bottle labels for a single entry must have the same information on both bottles. Download form here
The beer must have a name.
An entry may not be brewed, fermented or bottled using commercial equipment.
An entrant is the one or more people submitting an entry. Member(s) of an entrant must have actively contributed to brewing, fermenting, and bottling an entry. Every member must be at least 21 years of age. An entrant may not be an entire brew club. Competition staff, judges and stewards for this competition are not permitted to be entrants. Head Brewers or Brewmeisters are not permitted to be entrants. Brewery staff are allowed to participate, however, rule 7 still applies.
Entrant(s) must be residents of Tennessee.
Every entry must be declared a particular category and subcategory according to these guidelines. Under no circumstances will competition organizers, staff, or judges categorize entries.
No member of an entrant may submit another entry, whether as an individual entrant, a member of the same entrant, or a member of another entrant.

Specialty Beer - Fruit/Vegetable and Herb/Spiced : The entrant must specify the underlying beer style as well as the type of fruits/vegetables/herbs/spices used. For more accurate judging the user should specify the underlying classic style used for the brew.
Specialty Beer - Experimental, Historical, & Other : The entrant must specify the underlying beer style as well as the special ingredients/processes used and any additional information necessary to accurately describe the entrant's intent with a historical beer.
Smoked and Wood Aged : The entrant must specify the underlying beer style as well as the special ingredients/processes used and any additional information necessary to accurately describe the entrant's intent.
All entries become the property of the New Heights Brewing Company and will not be returned. Any questions or disputes will be settled by the competition organizers, and all decisions are final.
